About Us

Vision & Mission

Our vision is for a Central Australia in which all women and children live with greater safety, respect and dignity, free from violence, in their chosen communities. Our mission is to prevent and respond to violence in Central Australia by providing safe accommodation and support services for women and children who have experienced domestic or family violence.

History

Women’s Safety Services of Central Australia was first established in 1975 as a small independent service called The Women’s Centre’. It was set up by the local Women’s Electoral Lobby (WEL) and its first home was in Bath Street.

Get Involved

The community gets involved with WoSSCA in a number of ways, whether it’s working for us, volunteering, or donating money and good quality items. Many organisations also undertake our training programs.

Resources

There are things lots of people don’t understand about domestic, family and sexual violence. Our resources can help you and others learn about what violence is, who it affects, and what you can do to keep yourself and others safe.
